Vicente Padilla's agent has confirmed that his client did not suffer a serious injury upon shooting himself in the right leg Tuesday.
The free agent right-hander was apparently grazed by a misfired bullet shot from his own gun. He spent only 30 or 40 minutes in a local hospital before being discharged. Padilla's agent, Adam Katz, referred to the incident as a "hunting accident" and assured reporters "he's fine." The Dodgers are thought to have some interest in re-signing the 32-year-old this offseason.

Vicente Padilla held the Phillies to one earned run over 7 1/3 innings Friday as the Dodgers rallied for a 2-1 victory in Game 2 of the NLCS.
Padilla and Phillies starter Pedro Martinez put on a show at Dodger Stadium on Friday afternoon, but the game was decided well after the two starters were pulled. The Dodgers rallied for two runs in the eighth inning, courtesy of Philadelphia's poor defense and ineffective bullpen, and Jonathan Broxton dominated the top of the Phillies' batting order in the ninth. The series is tied 1-1 and is headed to a chilly Citizens Bank Park.
 Vicente Padilla-S - Dodgers Oct. 10 - 9:15 pm et

Vicente Padilla tossed seven scoreless innings to finish off the Cardinals as the Dodgers completed a three-game sweep on Saturday.
Manager Joe Torre pushed all of the right buttons this week, particularly with his usage of Jonathan Broxton and his choice of Padilla tonight. Maybe Chad Billingsley would have done about as well as poorly as the Cardinals were hitting, but Padilla was terrific, allowing just four hits. It was his first seven-inning outing in eight starts with the Dodgers.
 Vicente Padilla-S - Dodgers Oct. 7 - 9:43 am et

Vicente Padilla is scheduled to start Game 3 of the Dodgers' NLDS matchup with the Cardinals.
Padilla got the nod over Chad Billingsley, who will pitch in Game 4, if necessary. Padilla, a 32-year-old righty, went 4-0 with a 3.20 ERA and 1.22 WHIP in eight appearances (seven starts) after joining the Dodgers in late August. It'll be his first meeting with the 2009 Cardinals.
