Blue Jays GM Alex Anthopoulos told MLB.com's Jordan Bastian on Friday that his club is likely done adding players.
"As I sit here today, I don't see us doing anything [else before spring training]," said Anthopoulos, "but that's pretty fluid and it could change." The Jays finalized a one-year, $2.75 million contract with Kevin Gregg on Friday and made a few splashes earlier this winter. It's safe to assume their previously reported interest in Carlos Delgado no longer remains.

Vernon Wells (wrist) plans to begin strengthening exercises next week.
Wells hopes to be given clearance to swing a bat by the beginning of January, which would put him right on track to be at full health for the start of spring training. The 30-year-old outfielder, who underwent wrist surgery in early November, hit .260/.311/.400 with 15 home runs in 158 games this year.

Jordan Bastain of MLB.com reports that the Blue Jays have no plans to move Vernon Wells from center field.
Double-whammy. In addition to being owed $107 million over the next five years, Wells was one of the worst center fielders in the majors last season, according to UZR (Ultimate Zone Rating). "We do some defensive analysis from a statistical standpoint, but those are certainly not foolproof at all," general manager Alex Anthopoulos said. "It's just one tool. We certainly use our eyes as well."

The procedure was deemed a success and Wells is expected to be fully recovered by the start of spring training. The 30-year-old outfielder hit .260/.311/.400 with 15 home runs in 158 games this past season.

Vernon Wells will undergo surgery next week to repair damaged cartilage in his left wrist.
He's expected to be healthy for spring training, but the surgery could impact the Blue Jays' chances of unloading Wells' contract this offseason. Wells hit .260/.311/.400 in 158 games this this season, yet is still owed $107 million through 2014.

Updating a previous item, Paul Sullivan of the Chicago Tribune reports that the Cubs have denied rumors of a possible Milton Bradley-for-Vernon Wells trade.
The Cubs quickly responded to a report in Saturday's Toronto Sun, saying the rumor has "no legs at all." The Cubs are reportedly looking to unload Milton Bradley this winter, but acquiring Vernon Wells in order to do it would clearly be the wrong strategy.
