J.C. Romero (forearm) has been shut down for the rest of the season.
Romero will not be around to help the Phillies in their quest for back-to-back titles. He was activated off the disabled list a week ago, but came to the conclusion Friday that he might be rushing his recovery. "The arm is not recovering the way it should," he said. "When they say tendinitis, that means rest. The most I've rested the whole time is 10 days. I've probably got to rest a whole month or so." Scott Eyre will be relied on heavily in the playoffs.
