Dodgers recalled infielder Blake DeWitt from Triple-A Albuquerque.
DeWitt has been shuffled back-and-forth between Albuquerque and Los Angeles all season, and has a poor .156 major league batting average to show for it. He took a step back offensively on both levels in '09 and might no longer be considered a future starter. He needs to have a nice offseason and an excellent spring.

The dance continues. DeWitt has been shuffled back-and-forth between New Mexico and Los Angeles more than any other player on the Dodgers' roster and has just five hits in 32 at-bats (.156) to show for it.

DeWitt didn't get a start during his latest stint with the Dodgers. He homered once in four at-bats off the bench, leaving him 4-for-23 with one RBI in the majors this season.

DeWitt begins his fourth stint of the year on the Dodger bench. He was 3-for-19 with no extra-base hits or RBI during the first three. He's also been a disappointment in Triple-A, hitting .246/.343/.403 in a terrific environment for offense.

DeWitt has hit just .158 (3-for-19) for the Dodgers this season, and will get a chance to play more regularly at Triple-A for now. The Dodgers have yet to make a corresponding roster move, but MLB.com speculates that 31-year-old outfielder Mitch Jones could be summoned from Triple-A.
