If Carlos Delgado needs to be placed on the disabled list, Mike Lamb is one of the candidates to join the Mets.
Lamb only has a .122 batting average in Triple-A, but is hitting the ball hard. People in the know say Lamb or Ramon Martinez will be the one to receive the call should the Mets opt to put Delgado on the disabled list.

The Mets have signed Mike Lamb to a minor-league contract.
He's expected to join Triple-A Buffalo and provide them with some organizational depth in the infield.

Brewers released 3B Mike Lamb.
The veteran should catch on with another team, but for the time being he's not worth a roster spot in NL-only leagues.
 Mike Lamb-3B - Mets Mar. 31 - 7:14 pm et

Mike Lamb has been informed that he will not make the Brewers' Opening Day roster.
Manager Ken Macha chose spring sensation Casey McGehee over Lamb. McGehee, claimed off waivers from the Cubs over the winter, has hit .370 with six home runs and 15 RBI and has shown the ability to play all infield positions except shortstop. Lamb will clear waivers as he's owed $3.4 million this season, of which the Twins are paying $3 million. Expect him to land a job as a free agent rather than reporting to Triple-A Nashville.

 Mike Lamb-3B - Mets Mar. 17 - 8:38 pm et

Mike Lamb made an appearance at second base on Tuesday and hit a two-run homer against the Giants.
Lamb hasn't played second in a regular-season game since 2006. His only five starts at the position came in 2004. He probably won't be more than an emergency option there this year, but it can't hurt to give him a look. Unless he's taken out on a double play and suffers a torn ACL. That would hurt.
 Bill Hall-3B - Red Sox Feb. 13 - 3:20 pm et

Bill Hall is expected to miss 4-6 weeks with a partial tear of his left calf muscle sustained while working out Thursday.
Not a great start for a guy looking to bounce back this season. With Hall sidelined, Mike Lamb may get a chance to win a starting job against right-handers. The Brewers will also have the chance to take a longer look at Mat Gamel than expected. Gamel would have to show a great deal of progress on defense to have any chance of breaking camp with the team, but at least the door is slightly open now.
