Adam McCalvy reports that the Brewers could still sign free agent left-hander Mark Mulder on a minor league contract.
After signing Jim Edmonds, general manager Doug Melvin said he wasn't sure where else he could add to the roster, but Mulder is a notable exception. The Brewers have been connected to Mulder all winter, and his long-standing relationship with his former pitching coach Rick Peterson makes the marriage a pretty logical fit.

Brewers general manager Doug Melvin met with free agent left-hander Mark Mulder on Thursday but no agreement is imminent.
The Brewers want to see Mulder throw off a mound before committing to any sort of contract. "He's doing long tossing now and throwing off flat ground," Melvin told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel on Friday. "We told him we'd get back with him later on. He's interested in us and we're interested in him."

Brewers pitching coach Rick Peterson told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel this week that Mark Mulder is completely healthy and ready to contribute.
"He feels great physically," said Peterson. "He’s healthy, in tremendous shape. This is beyond rehabbing. It’s about performance now. It’s a matter of whether he can recapture his game." The Brewers are expected to offer Mulder, 32, a minor league contract next week with an invitation to spring training. The deal will also contain some performance-based incentives.

The Brewers will meet with free agent left-hander Mark Mulder on Thursday, reports Adam McCalvy of MLB.com.
"I think it will just be a nice chance to get together and talk and then we'll go from there," said Mulder's agent Gregg Clifton. "But I don't think it will take weeks and weeks to figure out, assuming they are interested in getting something done." The Brewers are expected to offer the oft-injured southpaw a minor league contract.

The Brewers plan to meet with Mark Mulder shortly and discuss a contract with the left-hander.
"We just want to see how he feels physically and if he's up to the challenge," said assistant GM Gord Ash. Assuming Mulder delivers all the right platitudes, a minor league contract with an invite to spring training is expected to be laid on the table. If Mulder accepts, he would rejoin former Athletics pitching coach Rick Peterson.

Brewers GM Doug Melvin is scheduled to meet with free agent lefty Mark Mulder next week to talk about a contract.
The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel's Tom Haudricourt says to "expect a signing." Mulder hasn't pitched a full season in the major leagues since 2005 and has made only three appearances in the past two years. It's doubtful he scores anything more than a minor league deal.
