 Josh Beckett-S- Red SoxNov. 3 - 7:59 pm et
Josh Beckett told WEEI on Tuesday that he and his agent will meet with Red Sox GM Theo Epstein in the coming weeks.
Beckett had his $12 million option for 2010 vest during the season, but he'll be a free agent after next year. An extension could cost the Red Sox upwards of $18 million-$20 million per year, but it might be worth it, given that Beckett has remained pretty healthy of late.

 Josh Beckett-S - Red Sox Oct. 10 - 8:09 am et

Josh Beckett allowed four earned runs in 6 2/3 innings in a ALDS Game 2 loss to the Angels.
Beckett was cruising for most of the game until running into trouble in the seventh, giving up two runs on an Erick Aybar triple that chased him from the game. His control started to abandon him the deeper he got into the game and only struck out three batters. The 29-year old will have to see the Sox claw back from a 2-0 series deficit for him to get another shot in Game 5.
 Jon Lester-S - Red Sox Oct. 9 - 7:52 pm et

Red Sox manager Terry Francona acknowledged Friday that Jon Lester could start Game 4 against the Angels on three days' rest.
"There’s a decent chance," Francona said. "He threw 100 pitches. I think we’d like to bring him back." The Red Sox also want to have Josh Beckett available for Game 5. They're trying hard to avoid starting Daisuke Matsuzaka, who pitched well near the end of the season but had a 5.76 ERA overall.

Josh Beckett allowed four earned runs over five innings Saturday to the Indians, but was given a ton of run support in the 11-6 win.
To be fair, it was his first start in nine days. But he struggled immediately out of the gate against a poor Indians offense and isn't bringing much confidence to Red Sox Nation. He's been fantastic in the postseason during his career, but he's going to need to dig deep to produce the same kind of results this year. Beckett finishes the regular season with a 17-6 record, 3.86 ERA and 1.19 WHIP.

Josh Beckett (back spasms) threw a successful 62-pitch side session on Wednesday and appears likely to start against the Indians on Saturday.
Beckett was a late-minute scratch from his scheduled Monday start against the Blue Jays. "Beckett threw a really good side, he felt great. It's significant news for us. We were really optimistic, but this confirms that he's in really good health," general manager Theo Epstein said.

 Josh Beckett-S - Red Sox Sep. 29 - 5:00 pm et

Josh Beckett (back spasms) expects to start against the Indians on Saturday.
Beckett was a late-minute scratch from his scheduled Monday start against the Blue Jays. He has dismissed his back issue as minor, but was given three cortisone shots Tuesday afternoon. The Red Sox insist there won't be any lingering problems going forward, but it's definitely a situation to watch.
