Diamondbacks signed RHP Rodrigo Lopez to a minor league contract.
He'll serve as bullpen insurance for the Diamondbacks in 2010. Lopez went 3-1 with a 5.70 ERA and 1.77 WHIP in 30 innings -- five starts and two relief appearances -- last season for the Phillies. He was optioned to Triple-A Lehigh Valley in early August and didn't factor into the Phillies' postseason plans.

Nick Piecoro of the Arizona Republic reports that RHP Rodrigo Lopez has signed a minor league contract with the Diamondbacks.
Lopez was 3-1 with a 5.70 ERA and 1.77 WHIP in 30 innings with the Phillies before being optioned to Triple-A Lehigh Valley in early August. He'll serve as bullpen insurance for the Diamondbacks in 2010.

Rodrigo Lopez took the loss to the Giants after giving up seven runs -- three earned -- in four innings on Thursday.
It was likely Lopez's final start for a while with Cliff Lee in town. He'll stick around as a reliever for now, but he may be bumped from the roster when Chad Durbin returns.

Rodrigo Lopez improved to 2-0 on Monday night, holding the Cubs to one run over six innings in a 10-1 Phillies victory.
Looks like his shoulder is alright. He's been impressive in his three starts for the Phillies this year, allowing only five runs on 16 hits over 17 1/3 innings. He'll face the Cardinals in his second start of the week on Saturday.
