A source tells Ken Rosenthal of FOXSports.com that Xavier Nady's deal with the Cubs is "not a foregone conclusion."
Why? Well, he's coming off his second Tommy John surgery, so the physical isn't the mere formality we hear about with most signings. Nady, 31, hit .305/.357/.510 with 25 homers and 97 RBI with the Pirates and Yankees in 2008, but was shelved for nearly the entirety of the 2009 season. Of course, he has the potential to be a very useful player in Chicago if he passes. Source: Ken Rosenthal on Twitter
