Jhoulys Chacin, who was sent down by the Rockies last week, combined with three relievers on a no-hitter for Triple-A Colorado Springs on Tuesday.
It was the Triple-A debut for Chacin, who was originally called up from Double-A. He pitched 5 1/3 hitless innings. Joel Peralta, Juan Rincon and Randy Flores kept it going from there to complete the no-hitter against Oklahoma City. Oddly enough, Oklahoma City just had Luis Mendoza throw a nine-hitter no-hitter on Friday.

Rockies placed RHP Juan Rincon on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to July 31, with right elbow stiffness.
The move makes room both in the bullpen and on the 25-man roster for newly acquired reliever Joe Beimel. Rincon is expected to miss about three weeks.

Rockies purchased the contract of RHP Juan Rincon from Triple-A Colorado Springs.
Rincon will take over Manny Corpas' spot on the 25-man roster and will operate mostly in middle relief. He had a 1.04 ERA, 11/3 K/BB ratio and .133 OBA in 8 2/3 innings for Colorado Springs.

Rockies signed free agent RHP Juan Rincon.
Rincon elected to terminate his contract with the Tigers rather than report to the minors on May 15. The gamble turned out to be a good one for Rincon. The reliever is 1-0 with a 5.23 ERA and 1.74 WHIP through 12 1/3 innings this season. It's unclear who he'll replace in the lineup at this point.

Tigers RHP Juan Rincon elected to terminate his contract and try free agency rather than accepting a minor-league assignment.
