Brian Roberts set the single-season record for a switch-hitter with his 56th double against the Rays on Tuesday night.
Roberts passed Lance Berkman, who set the record in 2001. He already is just the fourth player in history to have four 50-double seasons to his credit -- Stan Musial, Tris Speaker and Paul Waner are the others. Roberts still has time to reach 60 doubles - a mark that hasn't been accomplished since Charlie Gehringer set the all-time record in 1936. Todd Helton managed 59 back in 2000.

Brian Roberts was 3-for-5 with two RBI in an extra-inning loss to the Blue Jays on Tuesday night.
Roberts kicked off the scoring in the third with an RBI single and later added another RBI with his major-league leading 55th double. With a .287/.356/.459 line to go along with 15 home runs, 76 RBI, 103 runs scored and 29 stolen bases, Roberts is arguably enjoying his best season in the majors.

Brian Roberts was 3-for-4 with a grand slam in a win over the Yankees on Saturday afternoon.
Roberts entered play a .241 batting average this month, but after Saturday's blast, he has 11 runs batted in through nine games in September. Roberts' home run was the big blow in a six-run second inning by the O's, one that also saw Nolan Reimold launch his 15th home run of the season. Roberts has now matched his career-high of 73 RBI, set in 2005.

Brian Roberts drove in three runs in a win over the Yankees on Friday night.
Roberts finished the night 1-for-3 with a walk and two runs scored. He drove in runs with a sacrifice fly in the sixth and a two-run go-ahead single in a four-run sixth. Now with 69 RBI this season, Roberts is a pretty safe bet to top his previous career-best of 73 RBI from 2005.

Brian Roberts was 1-for-3 with an RBI, two walks and a run scored in a loss to the Red Sox on Wednesday night.
Roberts hit his 50th double in the game. This is a big deal because Roberts is now one of four players all-time to have three 50-double seasons - Tris Speaker, Paul Waner and Stan Musial are the others. Not bad, huh? Roberts is batting .283/.350/.454 with 14 homers, 66 RBI and 28 stolen bases this season.
 Brian Roberts-2B - Orioles Sep. 5 - 2:32 pm et

Brian Roberts will bat third against the Rangers on Saturday afternoon.
Roberts batted third for the first time in his career on Friday night and went 1-for-3 with an RBI single. With the Adam Jones injury and the trade of Aubrey Huff, the Orioles are lacking in run producers. Look for Roberts to continue to bat out of the No. 3 hole vs. right-handers.
