Adam Dunn, still two homers shy of a sixth straight 40-homer season, is out of Sunday's lineup.
Dunn clearly isn't 100 percent, and unfortunately, a poor final three weeks cost him what was shaping up as his best season to date. He hit just one homer after Sept. 11, and his OPS dipped from 976 to 926.

Adam Dunn is getting Sunday off to deal with aches and allergy problems.
Interim manager Jim Riggleman said he'd just get the one day off before returning to the lineup. Dunn still needs two more homers to get to 40 for the sixth straight season.

Adam Dunn slugged his 38th home run in a loss to the Dodgers on Tuesday night.
Dunn's third-inning home run, a two-run shot, was all the offense the Nationals would muster against the Dodgers. Dunn now has 38 home runs to go with 103 RBI. He has a pretty good chance of finishing with exactly 40 home runs for the fifth straight year, and as cool as that would be, fantasy owners wouldn't complain if he hit more.

Adam Dunn was 1-for-4 with an RBI in a loss to the Mets on Saturday afternoon.
Dunn drove in his 100th RBI of the season with a seventh-inning single. With that, he has reached the 100 RBI plateau for the third straight season and the fifth out of the last six.

Adam Dunn clubbed his 36th home run in a win over the Marlins on Friday night.
And to think nobody wanted this guy. Aside from a career-best .282 batting average, Dunn has an excellent chance at surpassing 40 home runs for the first time since 2004. And with 98 RBI, he should easily pass his previous career-high of 106 RBI from 2007, as well.
 Adam Dunn-OF - Nationals Aug. 27 - 5:40 pm et

Adam Dunn hit his 34th homer of the year as part of the Nationals' 5-4 win over the Cubs on Thursday.
The Nats went into Wrigley and won two out of three games. Dunn is now just six homers away from reaching 40 for the sixth straight year. He also has a good shot at achieving a new career high in RBI. He's just 17 away after driving in his 90th run today.
