Chien-Ming Wang, who underwent left shoulder surgery in June, has been cleared to begin throwing by December 1.
The news probably won't excite the Yankees enough to get him off their list of non-tender candidates, but the progress he's showing will appeal to other teams. Wang went 1-6 this season with a 9.64 ERA before undergoing his season-ending procedure. He won 38 games between 2006 and 2007.

 Chien-Ming Wang-S - Yankees Nov. 9 - 11:21 pm et

According to Peter Abraham of the Boston Globe, Dr. James Andrews told Chien-Ming Wang Monday that his shoulder is doing "remarkably well."
Wang had season-ending surgery on his shoulder in June after starting the season 1-6 with a 9.64 ERA. He's expected to hit the open market this winter and would make for an attractive low-risk, high-reward signing.

Chien-Ming Wang is scheduled to meet with renowned orthopedist Dr. James Andrews on Monday for an inspection of his right shoulder.
Wang underwent season-ending arthroscopic surgery in June after starting the season 1-6 with a 9.64 ERA. He's hoping to throw a rehab game by April or May and isn't likely to land a contract before he proves his health. The Yankees are not expected to tender him a deal this offseason.

Chien-Ming Wang (shoulder surgery) is unsure whether the Yankees will tender him a contract this winter.
"Nothing’s sure," said the 29-year-old right-hander. Wang underwent shoulder surgery to a repair a torn ligament in his right shoulder capsule in July. He has traveled with the Yankees during the postseason, even participating in pre-game drills, however he hasn't begun to pitch. Wang plans to see Dr. James Andrews in November, but given the uncertainty of his rehab and the 9.64 ERA he posted in 42 innings this season, the Yankees will likely let him enter free agency.

According to Tyler Kepner of the New York Times, Xavier Nady (Tommy John) and Chien-Ming Wang (shoulder surgery) are traveling with the Yankees to Minnesota.
According to Kepner, Nady, who is an impending free-agent, is progressing well from Tommy John surgery and expects to be ready for the start of spring training. While Kepner didn't mention Wang's recovery, he should begin picking up a baseball in approximately two months, with a likely return to the majors in June.

Chien-Ming Wang (shoulder surgery) is hoping to begin playing catch by January.
Wang is eligible for arbitration this offseason, but the Yankees are likely to non-tender him because of the injury risks and uncertainty surrounding his right shoulder. "That's something we won't even think about until November," Yankees GM Brian Cashman said Wednesday when asked if Wang will be back in 2010. "Those are issues for another day." The right-hander was 54-20 with a 3.79 ERA from 2005-2008, but went 1-6 with a 9.64 ERA this season.
