 Bobby Seay-R- TigersJan. 19 - 5:35 pm et
The Tigers and LHP Bobby Seay avoided arbitration on Tuesday by agreeing to a one-year, $2.475 million contract.
It's a patently ridiculous sum for a guy who isn't even particularly good against left-handed batters. Seay, 31, posted a 4.25 ERA and 1.29 WHIP in 67 appearances last season.

 Bobby Seay-R - Tigers Dec. 8 - 8:41 pm et

Jon Paul Morosi of FOXSports.com reports that the Tigers are willing to move left-handed reliever Bobby Seay.
It's only logical. Detroit is importing two left-handed relievers through Tuesday's three-team blockbuster and Seay is due to make $2 million in 2010. When the massive trade involving Curtis Granderson is made official, the Tigers will be left with a 42-man roster that needs to be trimmed to at least 40. Seay posted a 4.25 ERA in a career-high 67 appearances this season, although he stumbled near the end due to an injured pectoral muscle. The club is also willing to move catcher Dusty Ryan and first baseman Jeff Larish, Morosi's source said.

Bobby Seay (pectoral strain) expects to be available Monday night.
The Tigers are kicking off a huge series with the Twins and need all hands on deck. Seay skipped the weekend with a mild pectoral strain, but will throw a side session Monday afternoon and could be immediately cleared for action.

Bobby Seay will sit out at least through the weekend after being diagnosed Friday with a mild pectoral strain.
Seay will be re-evaluated on Monday and throughout the week. That it's apparently not more serious is good news for the Tigers, who would probably rather not employ Clay Rapada as their lefty specialist as they vie for the AL Central crown.

 Clay Rapada-R - Rangers Sep. 25 - 3:25 pm et

Tigers recalled LHP Clay Rapada from Triple-A Toledo.
This could spell some bad news on the horizon regarding the status of Bobby Seay, who felt shoulder discomfort after Thursday's game. Rapada has been successful for the Mud Hens, posting a 2.76 ERA in 45.2 innings, but was knocked around in his April major-league stint and hasn't pitched since September 4. He'll likely work in an emergency specialist role.

Bobby Seay complained of shoulder discomfort after his Thursday relief appearance and is scheduled to see a doctor on Friday.
Seay allowed two hits and an earned run, and has been shaky in his last two outings. He pointed to the front of his shoulder when asked where the pain was coming from. It's not yet clear how serious the injury might be.
