Juan Rivera slugged a solo homer in a win over the Athletics on Friday night.
Kendry Morales is getting a lot of attention as a breakthrough bat in the Angels lineup, but Rivera deserves some acclaim as well. The 31-year-old outfielder is batting .285/.329/.478 with 25 homers and 88 RBI in 523 at-bats this season. He's finally regained the form that made him a fantasy stud in 2006.

Juan Rivera is not in the starting lineup on Wednesday.
No cause for concern here. Rivera is getting a scheduled day off, and should be back in the lineup on Thursday. Gary Matthews Jr. gets the start in left field, hitting ninth.

Juan Rivera capped a nine-run 13th inning with a three-run homer as the Angels defeated the Orioles 17-8 on Sunday.
The Angels rallied for six singles, a double, a walk, and Rivera's homer off relievers Brian Bass and Matt Albers. Rivera finished the day with three runs scored, three hits, and four RBI. He had slown down some this month after an impressive two-month run, but today's outing will make August look just fine.

Torii Hunter hit a home run in his second of three rehab starts at Single-A Rancho Cucamonga Wednesday.
Hunter will play another Single-A game Thursday night and then join the Angels in Baltimore for Saturday's game. For all of the Angels' recent offensive outbursts, both Bobby Abreu and Juan Rivera have been cold in August while Gary Mathews Jr. is on fire. While Hunter likely takes over in center full-time, it may come at the expense of Abreu and Rivera until GMJ gets cold.

Juan Rivera returned to the Angels' starting lineup Monday.
Rivera missed eight straight games with a tight right hamstring. "He is fine to DH," Angels manager Mike Scioscia said Monday evening. "We will get him some at bats, see how the game goes and start to fold him back into left field sometime this week once he gets settled."
