 Jack Wilson-SS - Mariners Jul. 24 - 9:41 am et

The Pirates are hopeful Jack Wilson (hamstring) will return this weekend.
Wilson will take part in a pregame workout Thursday, which should give the Bucs an idea about his health. "If he tweaks it bad, he's out an extended period of time," manager John Russell said. "If we can baby him through this, he could be back in two or three days." Baby away.

 Freddy Sanchez-2B - Giants Jul. 8 - 11:19 am et

Pirates manager John Russell is hoping Freddy Sanchez (back) will return to the starting lineup Friday.
Sanchez missed his fifth consecutive game on Tuesday evening. "He's making progress," Russell said. "We're shooting for Friday." If Sanchez isn't ready by then, it'd make sense to throw him on the disabled list for a few days and call up some infield help. Ramon Vazquez will hold down the second base position for now.

 Freddy Sanchez-2B - Giants Jul. 7 - 6:37 pm et

Freddy Sanchez is sitting out a fifth consecutive game Tuesday as he continues to battle a lower back strain.
Ramon Vazquez, batting .327 in his past 49 at bats, is starting at second base and batting seventh as the Pirates take on the Astros. Sanchez could be placed on the disabled list if he fails to return to the lineup soon.

Jack Wilson will make one more rehab start with Triple-A Indianapolis Sunday then be activated for Tuesday's game.
The original plan was to have Wilson play in four games, but that's being changed to three. He should assume starting duties again with Ramon Vazquez losing the bulk of playing time.
