Dane Sardinha injured the right index finger on his throwing hand Thursday night in a loss to the Twins.
"A ball in the dirt kicked up," Sardinha said. "I'm guessing it's a sprain." He might not be available this weekend. Outfielder Ryan Raburn will serve as the emergency backup should something happen to Gerald Laird.

Treanor underwent right hip surgery on Thursday. It was originally believed he could return in a few months, but the surgery appears to have been more extensive. He was 0-for-13 at the time of the injury. Dane Sardinha will continue to backup Gerald Laird.
