According to WEEI.com's Rob Bradford, the Red Sox have not approached Victor Martinez or his representatives about a contract extension.
Martinez is only under team control for another year, but it sounds like the Red Sox have their attention elsewhere at the moment. "The bottom line is that we’re content," said V-Mart's agent, Alan Nero. "He’s happy to be a Red Sox, and he’s going to be a Red Sox for the next year."
