 Alfredo Amezaga-OF- DodgersFeb. 3 - 1:50 pm et
Dodgers signed IF-OF Alfredo Amezaga to a minor league contract.
He will earn $650,000 if he makes the club out of Spring Training and could earn an additional $800,000 in incentives. Amezaga, who turned 32 last month, was limited to just 27 games last season because of a left knee injury that eventually led to microfracture surgery. As a result, he was non-tendered by the Marlins in December. The Dodgers hope he can return to form as one of the more versatile players in the sport.

 Alfredo Amezaga-OF - Dodgers Feb. 3 - 9:21 am et

A club official told ESPN Los Angeles late Thursday evening that the Dodgers have not yet signed Alfredo Amezaga to a minor league contract.
The Dodgers have interest, but no pen has been put to paper. Amezaga, a 31-year-old utilityman, hit .217/.267/.261 last year before having his season cut short by microfracture left knee surgery. The Dodgers are probably taking extra time to review his medical records. Stay tuned.

Ken Rosenthal of FOXSports.com reports that free agent utilityman Alfredo Amezaga has signed a minor league deal with the Dodgers.
The deal, according to Rosenthal, would be worth $650,000 if Amezaga makes the team, with the potential for $800,000 more in incentives. Amezaga underwent microfracture surgery on his left knee last July and hasn't suffered any setbacks. His doctor prescribed a conservative rehabilitation program and Amezaga only began running a few weeks ago. The 31-year-old utilityman was limited to just 27 games last season because of the knee injury and batted only .217/.267/.261 when he was healthy, but he does provide defensive versatility.

Ken Rosenthal of FOXSports.com reports that free agent utility man Alfredo Amezaga worked out for four teams last week.
Amezaga, 31, underwent microfracture surgery on his left knee last July and hasn't suffered any setbacks, however his doctor Richard Steadma prescribed a conservative rehabiliation program. As such, Amezaga only began running a few weeks ago. The Marlins non-tendered him in December because of the surgery, but he was regarded as one of the most versatile players in baseball before the injury.

Alfredo Amezaga (knee) has been cleared to start a running program, according to Joe Frisaro of MLB.com.
Amezaga, 31, underwent microfracture surgery on his left knee last July and was non-tendered by the Marlins last month. The Marlins remain interested in re-signing the versatile utility man, however he is expected to entertain offers from any and all teams after holding a workout later this week.

 Alfredo Amezaga-OF - Dodgers Dec. 24 - 7:36 pm et

According to MLB.com's Joe Frisaro, the Marlins and free agent outfielder Alfredo Amezaga have mutual interest in working out a new deal.
Amezaga was non-tendered by the Fish in early December because he was due a raise from the $1.3 million he earned in 2009. In other words, he's not likely to score a major deal. The 31-year-old utilityman was limited to just 27 games this year due to a left knee injury and batted only .217/.267/.261 when he was healthy, but the Marlins seem to like his versatility.
