Nationals signed OF Kevin Mench to a minor league contract.
The deal comes with an invitation to spring training, where Mench will try to win a spot as a backup outfielder. He spent the 2009 season over in Japan, playing for the Hanshin Tigers on a $2 million salary. The 32-year-old hit .243/.321/.357 in 115 at-bats for the Blue Jays back in 2008. |
