Andres Torres went 3-for-4 with a homer off Dan Haren and a triple in Thursday's win over the Diamondbacks.
Torres has incredibly managed six homers and eight triples in 140 at-bats this season, giving him a .550 slugging percentage to go with his .271 average. It's a fluke, but it should be good enough to guarantee that he's invited back in 2010. It will be interesting to see what the Giants do with him, Fred Lewis, Nate Schierholtz, Eugenio Velez and John Bowker. Ideally, none would be penciled in as starters, but all could have their uses. Lewis will probably be gone, while Velez could find himself in the mix at second base. |
