 Ty Wigginton-1B- OriolesSep. 6 - 4:47 pm et
Ty Wigginton went 0-for-4 versus the Yankees on Monday, dropping his average to 250.
Are the Orioles really going to have Wigginton finish out the year as an everyday player? After posting OPSs of 1026 in April and 877 in May, he came in at 594, 662 and 673 the last three months. In September, he's 6-for-24 with two RBI through six games. It'd make a lot more sense for the Orioles to start giving Nolan Reimold more time.

 Ty Wigginton-1B - Orioles Aug. 17 - 9:23 pm et

According to Dan Connolly and Jeff Zrebiec of the Baltimore Sun, Ty Wigginton and Luke Scott were claimed off waivers, but pulled back by the Orioles.
Because the pair were pulled back, they are no longer eligible to be traded. As far as Wigginton is concerned, it is a bit of a lost opportunity. He will be a free agent after the season. Scott, meanwhile, is under team control through 2012 and has proved to be a consistent offensive force this season.

Nick Cafardo of the Boston Globe reports that the Orioles have placed infielder Ty Wigginton on waivers.
Not a shock. Wigginton, 32, has posted a .261/.335/.458 batting line, 18 home runs and 60 RBI in 391 at-bats this season while playing multiple positions for the Orioles. He's likely to be claimed by an interested team, but whether a trade can be worked out is a different story. Remember, every American League team will get a shot at him before the NL gets a whiff.

 Ty Wigginton-1B - Orioles Jul. 31 - 3:37 pm et

Ty Wigginton and Luke Scott are both in the lineup for the Orioles Saturday.
This would appear to make it less likely that they'll be traded, but it certainly doesn't guarantee they won't be. Both players, however, seem to be good bets to remain in Baltimore.
 Luke Scott-DH - Orioles Jul. 31 - 9:11 am et

There's an outside chance that the Orioles could deal Luke Scott.
The DH/outfielder/first baseman has been hot lately and could draw some interest from teams that miss out on Adam Dunn (the Rays reportedly have some interest). But Scott is under team control through 2012, so he won't come cheaply. It's much more likely that the O's deal either Ty Wigginton or Will Ohman or both.

Jon Paul Morosi of FOXSports.com reports that the Twins, Phillies and Giants are "cooling" on Ty Wigginton but that there is still a "50/50" chance that he's traded.
He's hitting .250/.327/.445 and would provide good infield depth for a contender. Wigginton is capable of playing first, second and third base. The Orioles will try to parlay that into at least one useful prospect.
