 Marco Scutaro-SS- Blue JaysNov. 17 - 3:17 pm et
According to his agent Peter Greenberg, free agent Marco Scutaro will "entertain all possibilities," including a return to the Blue Jays, reports FOXSports.com.
"He definitely hasn't closed the door on Toronto at all," Greenberg said. Scutaro batted .282/.379/.409 with 12 homers, 60 RBI and 100 runs scored in 2009, and is drumming up interest as a shortstop or a second baseman. According to Greenberg, Scutaro was offered a contract extension by the Blue Jays both during and after the season. Scutaro would consider accepting a one-year deal if he is offered arbitration.

 Marco Scutaro-SS - Blue Jays Nov. 3 - 10:16 am et

General manager Alex Anthopoulos said that while he is open to bringing back Marco Scutaro, Rod Barajas and John McDonald, that doesn't mean it will happen.
"As much as I like John McDonald, Rod Barajas and Marco Scutaro, there might be alternatives that make this organization better and are the right alternatives for this team," said Anthopoulos. "We'd like to bring them back, (but) everything has to fit with respect to what the alternatives are and with respect to what their financial requirements are. I'm starting to get a pretty good handle on where their expectations are with respect to the market and what they feel their value might be." Among the impending free agents, Scutaro, 34, figures to drum up the most interest on the open market. As a Type A free agent, he could net the Blue Jays two first round draft picks if he turns down arbitration in order to sign with another team.

 Marco Scutaro-SS - Blue Jays Oct. 19 - 9:18 am et

General manager Alex Anthopoulos says the Blue Jays would like to bring back Marco Scutaro and Rod Barajas.
"We like both players," said Anthopoulos. "We'd like to bring them both back." Whether they can afford to keep them is another thing. Antopoulous won't know his team budget until later this month. Scutaro, 33, batted .282/.379/.409 with 12 homers, 60 RBI and 100 runs scored this season. He was seventh in the league with 90 walks. Barajas, 34, batted just .226/.258/.403, but had 19 homers and 71 RBI.

 Marco Scutaro-SS - Blue Jays Sep. 30 - 8:53 am et

Marco Scutaro (heel) took batting practice Tuesday and is hoping to return to the starting lineup before the weekend.
"I watched him take batting practice," manager Cito Gaston said, "and he swung it pretty well. That's good news but I'm not sure if he's going to play (again)." Scutaro, an impending free agent, hasn't played since September 23. He's batting .282/.379/.409 with 12 homers and 60 RBI in 144 games this season.

 Marco Scutaro-SS - Blue Jays Sep. 29 - 9:11 am et

Marco Scutaro participated in infield drills Monday for the first time since tearing a muscle in his right heel last week.
Scutaro is determined to return to the Blue Jays' starting lineup for a few games before the end of the season, not only to help his team finish strong but also to ensure that there aren't question marks on his free agent resume. He'll be allowed to seek employment from any and all MLB clubs this winter.

 Marco Scutaro-SS - Blue Jays Sep. 23 - 8:58 am et

An MRI Tuesday revealed a tear in Marco Scutaro's sore heel.
Scutaro is likely done for the season, and will finish with an impressive .282/.379/.409 batting line, 12 homers and 60 RBI in 144 games. The Blue Jays aren't ready to officially call it quits on him just yet, but it'd be shocking to see him in the starting lineup again in '09. John McDonald will continue to pick up starts at shortstop in his place.
