 Aaron Cook-S- RockiesOct. 1 - 6:18 pm et
Aaron Cook pitched eight innings of one-run ball as the Rockies beat the Brewers 9-2 on Thursday to clinch the NL wild card.
It is nice to have that wild card wrapped up, but even more encouraging was Cook's performance in his second start back from a shoulder strain. He's allowed just the one run and one walk in 13 innings since coming back, so he's all set to be a part of the NLDS rotation. He ends the year 11-6 with a 4.16 ERA in 27 starts.

 Aaron Cook-S - Rockies Sep. 25 - 11:39 pm et

Aaron Cook tossed five shutout innings in his return from the disabled list against the Cardinals on Friday night.
Bothered by a strained right shoulder, it was his first start since Aug. 21. Cook held the Cardinals to just four hits, striking out one and inducing 12 groundballs. Cook was relieved by Jose Contreras after 76 pitches. He'll hope to build on the encouraging outing with a start against the Brewers next week.

Aaron Cook (shoulder) is scheduled to return to the Rockies' starting rotation on Friday against the Cardinals.
Cook has been out for over a month with a strained right shoulder, but looked strong during a 50-pitch simulated game over the weekend. He was 10-6 with a 4.47 ERA before the injury. That said, he will be limited to a pitch count around 70 and the matchup against St. Louis isn't ideal.

Aaron Cook (shoulder) threw a 50-pitch simulated game Saturday and is on track to start Thursday against the Padres.
Cook has been sidelined August 21 with a right shoulder strain, but reported improvement Saturday after his workout. "I felt g-o-o-d," Cook kidded. "Seriously, I felt really good. I would like to start, but I'm going to do whatever the club needs." He's 10-6 with a 4.47 ERA.

Aaron Cook (shoulder) tossed a successful simulated game Tuesday.
"There's a little rust on there, but there's no pain," Cook said. "That's pretty much what we were going for... There's nothing in there grabbing still." He'll throw another simulated game Saturday and, if all goes well, could return to the starting rotation by the middle of next week.

Aaron Cook will throw in a simulated game Tuesday along with Jose Contreras and Jeff Francis.
According to manager Jim Tracy, Cook threw his best bullpen of all his bullpens recently. Tracy went on to confirm that Cook is a candidate for the open rotation spot Sept. 25, which could serve as an audition for the playoffs. Francis is not returning to the club this year while Contreras is nursing a right quad strain.
