 Ryan Garko-1B - Mariners Jan. 28 - 4:00 pm et

According to Jerry Crasnick of ESPN.com, the Rangers have interest in free agents Ryan Garko and Rocco Baldelli.
General manager Jon Daniels would like to add a right-handed bat to Ron Washington's lineup. If they decide on Garko, he'll only play a part-time role in a short-term commitment with the club, as Chris Davis is expected to be the everyday first baseman and top prospect Justin Smoak is rising rapidly through Texas' minor league system. Considering Garko's splits, that's probably for the best.

 Marcus Thames-DH - Yankees Jan. 28 - 11:56 am et

Jon Heyman of SI.com reports that the Yankees may look at Marcus Thames, Rocco Baldelli or Jonny Gomes if they can be had at a low salary.
Brian Cashman is smart enough to know that Randy Winn alone isn't the answer. Heyman adds that the Yankees once had Thames and liked him. Thames, originally drafted by the Yankees in 1996, batted .252/.323/.453 with 13 home runs in 258 at-bats last season. He's generally a pretty bad outfielder, but has an 845 career OPS against left-handed pitching. The Yankees could use an extra right-handed bat in the outfield.

 Rocco Baldelli-OF - Red Sox Jan. 20 - 10:06 am et

The Cubs are among the teams interested in free agent outfielder Rocco Baldelli, according to the St. Petersburg Times.
The Yankees have also expressed interest but are reportedly dealing with a small budget crunch at the moment. Baldelli hit .253/.311/.433 with seven home runs and 23 RBI in 150 at-bats last season for the Red Sox. The 28-year-old is seeking a role as a utility outfielder.

 Rocco Baldelli-OF - Red Sox Jan. 15 - 6:38 pm et

According to Pete Caldera of the Bergen Record, there is mutual interest between the Yankees and free agent outfielder Rocco Baldelli.
Baldelli, 29, comes with serious injury risk, but still rakes against left-handed pitching and would fit within the Bombers' "hard-line budget," according to Caldera. He hit .253 with seven home runs and 23 RBI in 150 with the Red Sox last season while earning a $500,000 base salary.

 Jason Bay-OF - Mets Dec. 1 - 7:21 pm et

The Red Sox will offer arbitration to free agents Jason Bay and Billy Wagner, team president Larry Lucchino confirmed Tuesday.
Bay and Wagner are both Type A free agents and could net the Red Sox up to four draft picks if they sign with other clubs. Boston management is scouring outfield options this winter, including free agent Matt Holliday, through it wouldn't be surprising if Bay returns. He hit .267/.384/.537 in 2009 with 36 home runs, 119 RBI and 13 stolen bases in 531 at-bats. Boston's other free agents -- Rocco Baldelli, Paul Byrd and Chris Woodward -- were not offered arbitration.
