The Cubs and INF Jeff Baker avoided arbitration on Tuesday by agreeing to a one-year, $975,000 contract.
Baker, 28, missed the first part of the season due to a sprained left hand, but thrived after being acquired from the Rockies in early July, batting .305/.362/.448 with four home runs and 21 RBI in 203 at-bats. He's clearly the Cubs' best option at second base headed into Spring Training. |
