Matt Joyce is expected to return to the field this week after being diagnosed with tendinitis in his lower right leg.
The cause of Joyce's ailing lower right leg were previously unknown before a battery of tests. It is believed that the outfielder will be able to play through it. "I think all of us kind of feared that it may be something worse, so it was very good news," executive vice president Andrew Friedman said. "We're cautiously optimistic that this is behind us, but in the event that it flares back up and prevents him from playing, we're going to have to explore other courses of action." Although there is no timetable for Joyce's first exhibition appearance, it is likely he would have begun the season at Triple-A Durham anyway. Source: St Petersburg Times
