 Chris Bootcheck-R - Pirates Sep. 25 - 10:16 am et

Chris Bootcheck left the Pirates Thursday evening to be with his wife, who gave birth to a baby girl in Atlanta.
Bootcheck shouldn't be gone from the team for more than a day or two. He has a brutal 11.37 ERA and 1.74 WHIP in 12 2/3 innings this season.

 Chris Bootcheck-R - Pirates Aug. 14 - 5:15 pm et

Chris Bootcheck was tagged for seven runs in 2 1/3 innings of relief by the Cubs on Friday.
It looks like Bootcheck's latest major league stay will be a short one. He's given up 11 runs in four innings since joining the Pirates a week ago.
 Chris Bootcheck-R - Pirates Aug. 7 - 1:05 pm et

Pirates purchased the contract of RHP Chris Bootcheck from Triple-A Indianapolis.
Bootcheck has been a reliable closer in the minors, with a 3.38 ERA and 20 saves. The Pirates will stick him in middle relief and see if the can have some major league success for the first time in his career.
 Virgil Vasquez-R - Pirates Apr. 2 - 2:05 pm et

Pirates optioned RHP Virgil Vasquez to Triple-A Indianapolis; reassigned RHP Denny Bautista, RHP Chris Bootcheck, RHP Jason Davis, OF Garrett Jones, OF Jeff Salazar, C Erik Kratz and INF/OF Andy Phillips to minor league camp.
The Pirates kept listing Vasquez as a rotation contender, though he never did anything to deserve being taken seriously. He had a 7.62 ERA and more walks than strikeouts this spring. Davis is the one pitcher here who looked like a real threat to make the team. His exit would seem to suggest that Craig Hansen, Sean Burnett, Evan Meek and Rule-5 pick Donnie Veal are all on the team. Jesse Chavez is also still on the roster, but he'll likely be sent down unless an injury strikes.
