Rockies re-signed RHP Matt Belisle to a one-year contract.
Both Belisle and Randy Flores took some security now over the possibility of having to settle for a minor league contract later. In both cases, the deals are almost certainly worth less than $1 million. Belisle spent much of 2009 in the minors, but he allowed two runs over 12 2/3 innings after being recalled in September to earn himself a spot on the Rockies' postseason roster. He'll battle for a job in middle relief.

Rockies purchased the contract of RHP Matt Belisle from Triple-A Colorado Springs.
Belisle has been designated for assignment twice this season, and has now been recalled three times. The right-hander is 1-1 with an 8.35 ERA for the 2009 Rockies. He'll operate in a mop-up role down the stretch.

It's the second time he's been DFA'd this season. The right-hander is 1-1 with an 8.35 ERA in 15 games for the Rockies in 2009. He's likely to wind up back at Triple-A Colorado Springs.

Rockies purchased the contract of RHP Matt Belisle from Triple-A Colorado Springs.
Belisle will take the roster spot of Alan Embree. Belisle had an 8.31 ERA in 14 appearances for the Rockies before being designated for assignment on May 25. He has been pitching for Colorado Springs since then, compiling a 3.86 ERA in 14 appearances (four starts).

Matt Belisle has accepted an assignment to Triple-A Colorado Springs.
Belisle was designated for assignment last week and drew little to no interest on the waiver wire. The right-hander was 1-1 with an 8.31 ERA in 14 relief appearances for the Rockies. He retired just six batters and allowed 30 baserunners in 17 1/3 innings of work.

Rockies designated RHP Matt Belisle for assignment.
Belisle failed to make the Rockies out of spring training and posted an 8.31 ERA in 17 1/3 innings once he was called up. He may end up accepting an assignment back to Triple-A Colorado Springs.
