Mark Sheldon of MLB.com reports that there hasn't been much movement between the Reds and free agent outfielder Jonny Gomes this week.
"Nothing recently," said general manager Walt Jocketty. "We may re-evaluate where we're at with our roster and with the number of people we have going [to Spring Training]." The Reds reportedly offered Gomes a minor league contract last week, but he doesn't seem willing to bite at this time. If they decide to go with in-house options, they'll choose between a group that includes Chris Dickerson, Chris Heisey, Laynce Nix, Wladimir Balentien and Todd Frazier. |
