The White Sox are likely to monitor bargains in the free agent market, reports Scott Merkin of MLB.com.
"As we stand right now, there's not anything obvious we need other than perhaps another left-handed hitter to put in our lineup," said general manager Ken Williams. "Whether that guy is a power guy or another on-base percentage, speed guy or some combination of both ... I don't know what's going to be available." With already $74 million committed to 12 players, Chicago likely won't be able to afford Chone Figgins, but they could consider bringing back Jim Thome, or pick up a veteran catcher such as Henry Blanco or Mike Redmond.

 Alex Rios-OF - White Sox Oct. 3 - 10:20 pm et

Alex Rios went 4-for-5 with a double, three RBI and two steals in Saturday's win against the Tigers.
Well, looky who decided to show up for the final weekend of the season. Rios delivered his first multi-RBI game since joining the White Sox back on Aug. 12. He was hitting .175/.208/.277 with six RBI in 39 games for his new team.
 Alex Rios-OF - White Sox Sep. 22 - 11:57 pm et

Alex Rios homered in a loss to the Twins on Tuesday night.
Just to show how big of a struggle it's been for Rios, this is just his second home run in 114 at-bats since joining the White Sox. His last home run was on August 19. Rios is batting just .158 in a White Sox uniform. It's hard to win when big bats like Rios, Dye and Quentin just aren't performing.
 Jermaine Dye-OF - White Sox Sep. 22 - 4:07 pm et

Jermaine Dye is not in Tuesday's lineup against the Twins.
Alex Rios will start in right field, with Scott Podsednik in center and Carlos Quentin in left. Dye had a monster first half, but is batting just .168/.276/.260 with five home runs and 19 RBI in 196 at-bats since the All-Star break. The White Sox were unlikely to bring him back next season anyway, but his lack of production in the second half makes it a virtual certainty.

 Paul Konerko-1B - White Sox Aug. 22 - 3:54 pm et

Paul Konerko and Alex Rios are out of the lineup against Orioles Saturday's lineup against the Orioles.
Konerko is hitting just .197 with two homers and four RBI this month, so he could a breather. Mark Kotsay will fill in at first base with Scott Podsednik patrolling center field.

 Alex Rios-OF - White Sox Aug. 19 - 5:13 pm et

Alex Rios went 2-for-3 and hit his first homer for Chicago in Wednesday's defeat of the Royals.
After a 3-for-19 start to his White Sox career, Rios went 5-for-10 in the series against the Royals. He's started seven straight games, so playing time hasn't been an issue.
