 A.J. Pierzynski-C- White SoxAug. 31 - 9:58 pm et
A.J. Pierzynski hit a three-run homer to beat the Indians 4-3 on Tuesday.
With the game tied 1-1 in the eighth inning and two runners on, Pierzynski corked a long fly off Indians reliever Frank Herrmann. Turns out Chicago needed each one of those insurance runs, as Cleveland put up two runs in the ninth and had two guys on with two outs when Bobby Jenks came in and extinguished the flames for his 25th save.

 Matt Thornton-R - White Sox Aug. 25 - 2:12 pm et

White Sox placed RHP Matt Thornton on 15-day disabled list, backdated to August 18th, with a sore forearm.
Thornton may not actually miss much time since he's already been out a week, and an MRI showed no structural damage. On the other hand, the team needed healthy arms in their bullpen because of the AL Central race, and now Bobby Jenks is all alone in the pen. Thornton should only really be held in deeper leagues, as he'll be missing crucial time and Jenks will have the opportunity to nail down the closer role while he is gone.
 J.J. Putz-R - White Sox Aug. 25 - 2:07 pm et

White Sox placed J.J. Putz on the 15-day disabled list with a sore knee.
With Matt Thornton also headed to the DL, this makes Bobby Jenks a suddenly safe closer in the pale hose pen. An MRI already showed that Putz has no structural damage in the knee, but it has been bothering him and the team needs all hands on deck in that AL Central race.
 Matt Thornton-R - White Sox Aug. 24 - 11:41 pm et

Matt Thornton (forearm) is expected to be placed on the disabled list Wednesday.
Like with his teammate J.J. Putz, recent tests on Thornton's forearm revealed no structural damage, however he hasn't actually appeared in a game since last Tuesday. There's no sense in wasting a roster spot any longer. Be sure to check and see if Bobby Jenks is still available in your league. He should have the ninth inning all to himself again.

 J.J. Putz-R - White Sox Aug. 24 - 11:38 pm et

J.J. Putz (knee) is expected to be placed on the disabled list.
Putz left Tuesday's game against the Orioles after throwing just three pitches in the ninth inning. He underwent an MRI on Monday which revealed no structural damage in the knee, but it's safe to say he returned much too soon. Despite the win Tuesday, it couldn't have come at a worse time for the White Sox, who are trying to make up ground in the AL Central race. Be sure to pick up Bobby Jenks if he was dropped by an impatient owner.

 Bobby Jenks-R - White Sox Aug. 24 - 11:13 pm et

Bobby Jenks tossed a scoreless ninth inning to earn his 24th save in Tuesday's 7-5 win over the Orioles.
It may have been Jenks' second most impressive outing of the season. He pitched three scoreless innings of relief on Sunday in an extra innings loss to the Royals, but was asked to come back on one day rest because Matt Thornton was unavailable, Sergio Santos allowed four base runners to start the ninth inning without getting an out and J.J. Putz appeared to suffer a leg injury after throwing three straight balls to Ty Wigginton. Jenks entered with a runner on first and third in the ninth with a three-run lead and immediately induced a double play and a pop out to end the game. He's the undisputed closer in Chicago.
