Casey Kotchman is in Tuesday's lineup against the Blue Jays.
He should garner a couple starts while Mike Lowell is sidelined after receiving a shot in his right hip on Monday. Kotchman is batting .222/.291/.306 with one home run and seven RBI in 72 at-bats since joining the Red Sox.

Updating a previous item, Amalie Benjamin of the Boston Globe reports that Victor Martinez has left the team due to a personal issue.
Benjamin speculates that Martinez, who left to go home to Cleveland, might be gone for the next couple of days, so fantasy owners are encouraged to find a reasonable replacement. Jason Varitek is behind the plate on Tuesday, with Casey Kotchman starting at first base.

Perhaps Terry Francona forgot that Martinez is 10-for-21 in his career vs. Tuesday's starter John Lackey? In any case, Jason Varitek is behind the plate, while Mike Lowell mans the hot corner and Casey Kotchman gets a rare start at first base.
