Gavin Floyd gave up five runs over five innings in a 7-1 loss to the Angels on Friday night.
Floyd had three very good innings, sandwiched by two really bad ones. No surprise, the bad ones were the difference in the game. All told, he allowed six hits while walking two, striking out two and throwing a critical wild pitch that led to a gift insurance run. Naturally, the White Sox can't afford outings like this when they are barely hanging on in the playoff race.
