Andrew Bailey picked up his first save after throwing two perfect innings in Oakland's 5-3 win over Toronto on Friday.
We doubt that the original plan was for Bailey to pitch two innings, but it's possible Brad Ziegler had an issue in the bullpen or that he was just so good in the eighth that the A's thought leaving him in for the ninth was the right move. He's been Oakland's best reliever all year long, and he needed just 20 pitches to get his six outs tonight. He's likely in line for more save chances.
