 Daniel Cabrera-R- White SoxJan. 15 - 2:02 pm et
White Sox signed RHP Daniel Cabrera to a minor league contract.
Cabrera went 0-6 with a 6.00 ERA and 1.98 WHIP in 15 appearances (nine starts) for the Nationals and Diamondbacks last season. He again struggled mightily with his control and won't have much of an impact this year either.

 Daniel Cabrera-R - White Sox Nov. 5 - 2:42 pm et

Daniel Cabrera refused an outright assignment to Triple-A Reno and is now a free agent.
Cabrera had a 6.00 ERA and hideous 23/42 K/BB ratio in 51 innings between Arizona and Washington. He still throws hard, but Cabrera hasn't had an ERA below 5.00 since 2006 and his awful control is now matched by a sub par strikeout rate.

Daniel Cabrera allowed three runs over five innings in a loss to the Cubs on Saturday.
Cabrera walked three and struck out one while dropping to 0-6 on the season. He seemed to be settling into a groove as a reliever but that success didn't really carry over in his return to the rotation. His awful control might make him a lost cause; he walked 42 batters in 51 innings this year.

Daniel Cabrera is open to working as a reliever in the future.
Cabrera was pushed to the bullpen in early September, shortly after allowing five runs in his Diamondbacks debut. Since the move he's thrown six consecutive scoreless innings. "When I came out the first time, my mind was off," said the right-hander. "But I started to get more and more used to it, and I started to like it. I think it could be another role for me."

Making his Diamondbacks debut, Daniel Cabrera gave up five runs without retiring a batter in relief Sunday against the Rockies.
Ouch. But it's not like Cabrera had been any good in Triple-A. He'll be used as a mop-up man if he manages to finish the season on Arizona's roster.
 Daniel Cabrera-R - White Sox Sep. 3 - 11:02 pm et

Diamondbacks purchased the contract of RHP Daniel Cabrera from Triple-A Reno.
Cabrera was dumped by the Nationals in late May after posting an 0-5 record, 16/35 K/BB ratio and 5.85 ERA in 40 innings (eight starts). He's been even worse at Reno since signing a minor league deal with the D'Backs, and shouldn't be trusted no matter how the club decides to use him.
