 Orlando Hudson-2B- TwinsFeb. 2 - 8:53 am et
The Mariners "remain a long-shot candidate" to sign free agent second baseman Orlando Hudson, according to FOXSports.com's Jon Paul Morosi.
We've heard rumblings of an interested mystery American League team, so it seems this rumor could have some legs. That said, Hudson doesn't exactly fit in Seattle, where Jose Lopez mans second base and Casey Kotchman is expected to man first. The M's would probably have to move one of the two in order to spin a deal, unless the "O-Dog" is fine with a backup role.

 Jose Lopez-2B - Mariners Nov. 24 - 11:47 am et

Geoff Baker of the Seattle Times believes the Mariners will try to deal second baseman Jose Lopez this offseason.
The M's value things like on-base percentage and defense, and Lopez isn't particularly strong in either fields. With infield prospect Dustin Ackley on the way, the club can trade Lopez now, while his value is highest, and find a one or two-year solution to fill the hole. The 25-year-old hit .272/.303/.463 this past season with 25 home runs, 42 doubles and 96 RBI.

According to FOXSports.com, the Mariners are considering sliding Jose Lopez to first base next season.
Lopez committed 15 errors at second base in 2009 and showed below average range. With first baseman Russell Branyan hitting the open market, the M's could move Lopez to a less demanding position and grab a solid free agent infielder like Placido Polanco or Orlando Hudson. "All options are left open at this time," Seattle general manager Jack Zduriencik said Thursday. "It is one that we could talk about."

 Jose Lopez-2B - Mariners Sep. 22 - 10:18 pm et

Jose Lopez hit a go-ahead solo home run in a win over the Rays on Tuesday night.
Lopez broke a 3-3 tie with a solo homer off Dan Wheeler in the eighth. Though he has already reached career-highs with 25 home runs and 92 RBI, a lowly .301 on-base percentage has his OPS at 769.

Jose Lopez was 3-for-4 with a home run in a loss to the Angels on Wednesday night.
Lopez now has four straight mulit-hit games to his credit. With a .272/.305/.471 line to go along with 23 home runs and 85 RBI, he is right in line with his preseason projections. The 25-year-old is a pretty good bet to top his career-high of 89 RBI from last season.

Jose Lopez is getting the start at first base on Wednesday.
Manager Don Wakamatsu wants as many right-handers as possible against Angels' lefty Scott Kazmir, so left-handed-hitting Mike Carp goes to the bench and Bill Hall gets the start at second.
