Athletics assigned RHP Jeff Gray to Triple-A Sacramento.
With only 1/3 of an inning pitched since being recalled last week, Gray was the logical choice to be sent down to make room for Santiago Casilla (knee), who is set to come off the disabled list Friday. to be a move to get Gray more playing time. For what it's worth, the reliever owns a 0.00 ERA in the bigs this season.

Casilla hurled a 1-2-3 inning Tuesday at Triple-A Sacramento. He's been out since April 29 with a sprained right knee.

Santiago Casilla is scheduled to throw a bullpen session Thursday for the first time since hitting the disabled list with a sprained right knee.
Casilla was placed on the 15-day DL retroactive to April 29. He told the San Francisco Chronicle Wedneday that his knee feels much better. Expect him back around mid-to-late May.

Athletics placed RHP Santiago Casilla on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to April 29, with a sprained right knee.
Casilla suffered the injury at the beginning of the season, but it only affected his pitching starting Tuesday night. 15 days of rest should do the trick.
