 David DeJesus-OF- RoyalsSep. 17 - 1:55 pm et
David DeJesus was held out of Thursday's lineup with a sore left knee.
DeJesus was nailed on the knee by a pitch Wednesday evening. He was able to stay in the game, but probably suffered some bruising and swelling. "He's a little banged-up," said Royals manager Trey Hillman. "He's black and blue. He just needs a day." Mitch Maier drew the start in left field.

 Mitch Maier-OF - Royals Sep. 16 - 10:10 pm et

Mitch Maier was 3-for-4 with an RBI in a loss to the Tigers on Wednesday night.
A .290 batting average since the beginning of August has pulled his overall line up to .254/.333/.362. However, with limited pop and a mediocre glove, this former first-round pick is running out of time to show his worth as a major league regular.
 Mitch Maier-OF - Royals Jul. 23 - 8:59 pm et

Royals recalled outfielder Mitch Maier from Triple-A Omaha.
Maier has a .213/.289/.309 batting line, no home runs and nine RBI in 136 at-bats with the Royals this season. He was optioned back to Triple-A on July 17 to clear room on the 25-man roster for Alex Gordon, but is now being promoted to take Jose Guillen's place.

Royals optioned outfielder Mitch Maier to Triple-A Omaha.
Maier had a .213/.289/.309 batting line, no home runs and nine RBI in 136 at-bats with the Royals this season. He may be recalled if there's an injury in the outfield, but his roster spot was needed for Alex Gordon.
 Coco Crisp-OF - Athletics Jun. 23 - 6:46 pm et

Manager Trey Hillman revealed that Coco Crisp will undergo right shoulder surgery Wednesday and miss the remainder of the season.
The Royals confirmed that Crisp's labrum is torn and will be repaired by Dr. James Andrews. Hitting just .228 with a .378 slugging percentage, the injury has been affecting Crisp's swing throughout the first two and half months of the season. Mitch Maier will likely take over full-time in center field, though he has modest fantasy value in AL-only leagues.

 Coco Crisp-OF - Athletics Jun. 14 - 12:35 pm et

Royals placed outfielder Coco Crisp on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to June 13, with a right rotator cuff strain.
Crisp was attempting to play through the pain, but it just wasn't happening. He shouldn't be out longer than the allotted 15 days. The 29-year-old is batting a career-low .228 with three home runs and 14 RBI. Since the Royals declined to add another outfielder to replace him, it looks like Mitch Maier will play center for now.
