Jamie McCourt was denied her request to be immediately reinstated as the Dodgers' CEO at a hearing Thursday in Los Angeles.
Frank McCourt fired his wife from the gig in late October along with a divorce filing, claiming she had an affair with her personal driver. It's still not clear how all of this will affect the ownership status of the team, but it's certainly not good as the baseball calendar flips to the free agency period.

According to Jon Heyman of SI.com, Dodgers owner Frank McCourt has fired his wife Jamie as CEO of the team.
The two are engaged in heated divorce proceedings and are battling over the rights to the club, which is apparently split 50-50 between the couple. It's not yet clear how this firing will affect the clash over ownership.

After losing the NLCS to the Phillies for a second straight season, outfielder Andre Either expressed the Dodgers need for an ace pitcher.
"I think they have a clear No. 1 guy," Ethier said, in reference to the National League champion Phillies. "That's the biggest thing. No disrespect for our pitchers, the way they've performed, but when you've got a Cliff Lee, a veteran guy who knows how to pitch and has pitched well and is carrying some hardware with him, you've got a great guy to lead off your staff." Los Angeles starters had a 5.30 ERA over eight starts during the postseason. The rotation could see a significant makeover, with Randy Wolf, Vicente Padilla and Jon Garland expected to hit the free agent market. Dodgers fans will no doubt clamor for Roy Halladay this winter.

According to the Los Angeles Times, the Dodgers have reached agreement on a multi-year extension with GM Ned Colletti.
Thanks to a huge budget, the horrible Jason Schmidt, Andruw Jones and Juan Pierre deals haven't prevented the Dodgers from winning back-to-back NL West crowns. There's still a good argument to be made that Colletti is one of the game's worst GMs, but since he has held on to a lot of a right young players, his team is still set up to contend for years.

The lawyer for Dodgers CEO Jamie McCourt said Thursday that his client has no plans of surrendering her ownership involvement with the Dodgers.
The McCourts, Frank and Jamie, filed for divorce late Wednesday night and have been slinging mud through the media all day Thursday. According to Jamie's lawyer, ownership of the team is split 50-50 between the couple. It's a terrible distraction for the Dodgers and their fans heading into Game 1 of the NLCS against the Phillies, which is set to begin Thursday night. A similar situation within the Moores family last year resulted in the sale of the Padres.
