 Zach Jackson-R- Blue JaysJan. 9 - 10:16 am et
The Blue Jays acquired LHP Zach Jackson from the Indians for a player to be named later.
Jackson is a former Blue Jay who has now been traded three times, the two previous times for Lyle Overbay (Toronto to Milwaukee) and CC Sabathia. The 26 year old posted a 9.35 ERA in 8 2/3 major league innings. For Triple-A Columbus, he tallied a 6.05 ERA in 99 2/3 innings. The 6'5" left-hander doesn't throw hard enough to be taken seriously as a starter but could develop into a middle reliever.

Indians optioned LHP Zach Jackson to Triple-A Columbus.
Jackson spent less than 24 hours with the Indians this time around. He allowed seven runs -- six earned -- and four walks against the Rays on Wednesday.

Indians recalled LHP Zach Jackson from Triple-A Columbus.
Jackson gets the start against the Rays on Wednesday, but isn't much of a fantasy option. He had a 5.60 ERA in 54 2/3 innings for the Indians last season and allowed three earned runs in 4 2/3 innings for the major league club in April.

The Indians have yet to name a starter for Wednesday's game, but Zach Jackson is expected to be called up to toe the rubber against the Rays.
Manager Eric Wedge wants to keep Jeremy Sowers in the bullpen for awhile, and Wednesday is Jackson's regular turn in Columbus' rotation. More of a long reliever, Jackson doesn't come recommended even for desperate AL-only leaguers.

Indians optioned LHP Zach Jackson to Triple-A Columbus.
Jackson wasn't getting much work as a long reliever, so the Indians swapped him out for someone who could be more useful in shorter bursts. Jackson will probably go back into the rotation at Columbus, just in case he's needed as a starter at some point.

With Scott Lewis on the disabled list, Zach Jackson is among the candidates to take Lewis' spot in the rotation Wednesday.
Jackson would seem to be a good fit as one of the team's long relievers, but manager Eric Wedge hasn't committed to anything. "We're not sure what we're going to do yet," Wedge said.
