Rays non-tendered catcher Shawn Riggans.
The Rays fatigued of the injury-prone Riggans last season, acquiring Gregg Zaun to play over him. The 29-year-old might not be a bad backup when healthy, but that he can't stay off the DL while playing once or twice a week is an awfully bad sign.

Rays recalled catcher Shawn Riggans from Triple-A Durham.
Riggans will serve as the Rays' third catcher down the stretch. He was 1-for-4 during a short stint with the big league club earlier this season and was batting just .200/.238/.325 for Durham.

Rays optioned catcher Shawn Riggans to Triple-A Durham.
Riggans completed his 20-day rehab assignment after more than three months on the DL due to a shoulder injury, and will now continue his recovery in the minors. He should not be owned in fantasy leagues.

Shawn Riggans isn't expected to return for another month after suffering a setback during a rehab game last week.
Riggans got a clean review from Dr. James Andrews, but he'll need about three weeks of rest to allow irritation and inflammation to dissipate from his shoulder. He has been on the disabled list since April 10.

According to Rays manager Joe Maddon, Shawn Riggans won't be back anytime soon after a setback in Thursday's rehab game.
The dreaded name of Dr. James Andrews even came up. Looks like it will be Michel Hernandez backing up Dioner Navarro for the forseeable future.

Shawn Riggans (shoulder) left Thursday's rehab game in Montgomery.
Riggans is slated to rejoin the big-league squad this weekend, but that may now be in jeopardy. It's unclear what exactly occurred, but it looked like the catcher took a foul ball off his shoulder. Stay tuned.
