 Chris Dickerson-OF - Reds Sep. 29 - 7:30 pm et

Chris Dickerson (ankle) took batting practice Tuesday and is hoping to return to the Reds at some point this week.
Dickerson has been on the disabled list since late August with a sprained left ankle. He's raring to get back, but the Reds are taking all precautions. "I expressed my wanting to come back on Monday and Tuesday," he said, "and really didn't get much of a response. I'm ready to go."

Reds placed outfielder Chris Dickerson on the 15-day disabled list with a sprained left ankle.
Dickerson suffered the injury on a pickoff attempt Sunday. The 27-year-old is batting .277/.373/.375 this season with 15 RBI and 11 stolen bases in 292 plate appearances. He shouldn't be out longer than the allotted 15 days. The Reds have placed 19 players on the DL this season, tied for most in the majors.

Chris Dickerson rolled his ankle on a pickoff attempt Sunday and is headed for the disabled list.
"It's not looking good," Reds manager Dusty Baker said. "I know it's a bad sprain. They X-rayed it, and nothing's broken but we will have to DL him because it's bad. He's in a boot." The Reds are expected to promote a starting pitcher to take Dickerson's roster spot, as Aaron Harang hit the DL Sunday morning.

 Willy Taveras-OF - Athletics Aug. 19 - 9:43 am et

Willy Taveras has been diagnosed with a mild quadriceps strain.
That's good news, although Taveras has shown in the past that even the slightest leg injury can essentially make him useless. Laynce Nix entered the game when Taveras left Tuesday night, with Chris Dickerson sliding over to center field.
