Rays acquired infielder-outfielder Sean Rodriguez as the player to be named in the Scott Kazmir deal.
Rodriguez, 24, posted an impressive .301/.402/.622 batting line, 29 home runs and 93 RBI in 362 at-bats this season at the Triple-A level. Tampa could decide to call him up and use him as a utilityman down the stretch.

FOXSports.com's Ken Rosenthal reports the Rays will receive either OF Sean Rodriguez or C Bobby Wilson as the PTBNL in Friday's Scott Kazmir deal.
Rodriguez is the more intriguing prospect with a .301/.402/.622 batting line, 29 home runs and 93 RBI in 362 at-bats this season on the Triple-A level. He could work as a utilityman in the bigs as soon as next season. But, according to Rosenthal's sources, Wilson is more likely to be moved. He's batting .271/.314/.399 with eight home runs and 55 RBI at Triple-A this year.

Angels optioned second baseman Sean Rodriguez to Triple-A Salt Lake.
Rodriguez has hit .200 with two homers and four RBI in 25 at-bats for the Angels this season, and will look to add to his 23 homers and 79 RBI at Triple-A for now. He makes room for Wednesday's starter, Sean O'Sullivan.

With Howie Kendrick healthy and swinging the bat again, Rodriguez was no longer needed. He hit .277 with 20 home runs and 60 RBI in 202 at-bats at the start of the year for the Salt Lake Bees, but posted a disappointing .118/.211/.294 batting line in nine games at the major league level.

Angels recalled second baseman Sean Rodriguez from Triple-A Salt Lake.
It was speculated less than two weeks ago, but Rodriguez gets the call instead of Brandon Wood. Rodriguez was tearing up the PCL, batting .277 with 20 homers and 60 RBI in 202 at-bats. The Angels hope he'll provide some pop.
