Brewers optioned RHP Mike Burns to Triple-A Nashville.
With a 6.10 ERA and 1.57 WHIP in 13 appearances (eight starts), Burns has no reason to be on a major league roster. His demotion cleared 25-man roster space for Dave Bush, who was activated from the DL in a corresponding move.
 Dave Bush-S - Brewers Aug. 23 - 12:29 pm et

Dave Bush (triceps) is scheduled to return to the Brewers' rotation with a start Thursday against the against the Reds.
Bush hit the disabled list on June 23 with a small tear in his right triceps muscle. His presence should allow the Brewers to demote Mike Burns, who allowed six earned runs in three innings Saturday against the Nationals.

Mike Burns surrendered six earned runs in three innings Saturday against the Nationals but escaped with a no-decision.
Burns was granted the start in favor of Carlos Villanueva, who is 2-10 with a 6.25 ERA this season. Neither would have been a great bet, but Burns looked absolutely terrible. He served up five hits, including a grand slam to Nationals second baseman Ronnie Belliard, while his ERA climbed to 6.17.
