Sean O'Sullivan allowed two runs over five innings in a 5-2 win over the Rangers on Tuesday night.
A last minute replacement for Scott Kazmir, O'Sullivan held the Rangers to just three hits while striking out three and walking one. The only run scored on a solo homer by David Murphy in the fourth. O'Sullivan improved to 4-2 with a 6.16 ERA in 11 appearances (nine starts) this season. It was his first win July 21.

Scott Kazmir was suddenly scratched from his Tuesday start.
Sean O'Sullivan will start in his place against the Rangers. According to Angels manager Mike Scioscia, the move was made solely to get Kazmir rested up for the playoffs. There's nothing physically wrong with him.

Angels recalled RHP Sean O'Sullivan from Triple-A Salt Lake.
O'Sullivan impressed on several occasions earlier this year, but was demoted in late August after going 0-2 with a 12.27 in his final four starts. He could draw a start down the stretch if there's some sort of emergency, but won't be worth using in most fantasy leagues. The 22-year-old right-hander is 3-2 overall with a 6.60 ERA in the bigs this season.

O’Sullivan was 0-2 with a 12.27 ERA in his last four starts. Joe Saunders will take over his rotation spot Thursday against the Athletics.

Sean O'Sullivan will remain in the Angels rotation for the foreseeable future, according to manager Mike Scioscia.
"Yeah, we're going to stay with these guys for awhile," Scioscia said of the current rotation (O'Sullivan, John Lackey, Joe Saunders, Jered Weaver and Ervin Santana). O'Sullivan is 3-0 with a 3.72 ERA, 1.38 WHIP and 16/8 K/BB ratio in 29 innings this season. He threw a no-hitter for Triple-A Salt Lake last Tuesday and was recalled by the Angels to start on Wednesday against the White Sox. O'Sullivan is worth a look in mixed leagues.
