Joe Christensen of the Minneapolis Star-Tribune reports that Glen Perkins has dropped a service time grievance against the Twins this week.
At dispute was whether the Twins knowingly delayed his service time during his rehab from shoulder tendinitis, thus denying him arbitration. According to Christensen, the two sides reached a settlement this week, as the 26-year-old southpaw recouped some service time, however it was not enough for him to qualify for arbitration as a "Super Two."

Glen Perkins is scheduled to visit Dr. Lewis Yocum on Wednesday for another opinion on his left shoulder.
"I think everybody wants to be reassured that he's going to be fine," said general manager Bill Smith. "I had a good talk with his agent and talked to Glen the other day. Ultimately I think we are all looking for the same thing." Meanwhile, the players' union is looking into whether to file a grievance on his behalf. At dispute is whether the Twins knowingly delayed his service time during his rehab from shoulder tendinitis.

Twins activated LHP Glen Perkins from the 15-day disabled list and optioned him to Triple-A Rochester.
The club wasn't ready to trust Perkins en midst of a playoff push. It's probably a sage decision. He posted an 8.59 ERA and 11/9 K/BB ratio in his last seven starts prior to hitting the shelf.

According to Joe Christensen of the Minneapolis Star Tribune, Glen Perkins will avoid shoulder surgery after a second MRI showed no major damage.
Perkins' first MRI came back inconclusive, so the Twins opted to give it another try. He was placed on the DL on Wednesday with left shoulder tendinitis after posting an 8.59 ERA and 11/9 K/BB ratio in his last seven starts. There's a chance he could help the team in September.

An MRI on Tuesday revealed no immediate concerns, but a few weeks of rest should help Perkins get rid of any soreness. He has posted an 8.59 ERA and an 11/9 K/BB ratio in his last seven starts.
