Edinson Volquez will undergo season-ending surgery on his right elbow on Monday, reports Mark Sheldon of MLB.com.
As reported earlier, it's still not known what type of procedure Volquez will have. If he needs Tommy John surgery, he could miss up to one year. "I feel bad because I've been working at for the past two months," Volquez said. "I threw five bullpens and I didn't feel anything. Then I get to the mound and see some hitters and I tried to do a little bit more than I did in the bullpen." We should have a better estimate of his recovery time after the surgery is complete on Monday. Source: MLB.com
