Yunel Escobar was 2-for-4 with two RBI and a run scored in a win over the Mets on Tuesday night.
His two-run single in the fourth spoiled an otherwise excellent outing by opposing pitcher Nelson Figueroa. Escobar is batting a very solid .301/.378/.443 with 14 home runs, 71 RBI and 79 runs scored this season. We look forward to seeing what he can do in his "age 27" year next season.

Yunel Escobar returned to action on Tuesday and went 0-for-3 with a walk against the Astros.
Escobar hadn't played since Friday because of an ankle injury.

Yunel Escobar left Friday's game in the bottom of the fourth inning after being struck in the back of the head while running to first base.
Bobby Cox was also tossed, as the umpires ruled batter interference on the play. Escobar mustered a walk earlier in the game. He's likely just shaking the cobwebs off and should play tomorrow. Omar Infante moved from center to short, with Nate McLouth entering the game in center.

Yunel Escobar was 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBI in a loss to the Marlins on Wednesday night.
He tied the game with a solo homer off Leo Nunez in the top of the ninth, but the Marlins eventually won on a walk-off homer by Wes Helms in the bottom of the frame. Now with a .307/.377/.459 line to go along with 14 homers, 66 RBI and 70 runs scored, Escobar has already surpassed his previous career-highs from last season. Expect him to be among the first 12 shortstops taken in 2010.
