 Carlos Gomez-OF- BrewersNov. 6 - 1:26 pm et
Brewers acquired outfielder Carlos Gomez from the Twins for J.J. Hardy.
While many expected the Brewers to add a pitcher in exchange for Hardy, Gomez should fill the gap in center field with Mike Cameron about to hit free free-agency. Gomez has a .246/.292/.346 line in the majors and is a little too reckless on the basepaths at times, but nobody can question his world-class defense in center field. It seems like he has been around forever, but it's worth noting that Gomez is only 23 years old and will be under team control until 2013. With the money saved on the acquisition of Gomez, look for the Brewers to add a starting pitcher in free agency.

 J.J. Hardy-SS - Twins Nov. 6 - 11:57 am et

Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports that the Brewers have traded J.J. Hardy to the Twins for Carlos Gomez.
Hardy was a goner with the Brewers committing to Alcides Escobar at shortstop and the Twins have long been a rumored destination for him, so this deal makes sense. Gomez fell out of favor in Minnesota after arriving in the Johan Santana trade, but the speedy center fielder will be given a clear path to everyday playing time in Milwaukee as the replacement for free agent Mike Cameron.

 Denard Span-OF - Twins Sep. 25 - 5:02 pm et

Denard Span (head) is in Friday's lineup for the Twins.
Span will take the leadoff spot and play center. He'd been recovering from a nasty beaning in the head he got Monday. Carlos Gomez will hit the bench again.
 Denard Span-OF - Twins Sep. 23 - 1:16 pm et

La Velle E. Neal of the Minneapolis Star-Tribune reports that Denard Span was able to run prior to Tuesday's game and "felt he was slowly coming around" after being hit in the head on Monday.
With an off day approaching Thursday, Neal suggests that the Twins could hold Span out one more game before having him return to the lineup on Friday. Either way, it doesn't sound like Span's return is too far off. Carlos Gomez could be in line for an additional start on Wednesday.
